Athletics at the Granite

Members of all ages can choose to play their favourite sport as an enthusiast or train hard with top professionals at the competitive level. For decades, Olympians and world champions have walked our halls - evidenced by the inductees in the prestigious Granite Hall of Fame.

We offer several athletic sections in which Members can enjoy ladders, clinics, multi-week programs and social events together. Children's camps run during summer, March Break and the December holidays, offering even more opportunities for young Members to discover a new sport, work on their game or simply make new friends.

AQUATICS

The Granite Club Aquatics Complex features two twenty-five-metre, six-lane pools, plus the Activity Pool with fun water features and a ‘Tadpool' for our littlest swimmers. Year-round programming spans all ages and skill levels, including learn-to-swim classes, children's camps, synchronized swimming, aquafitness, competitive teams and lifesaving. For those who prefer to relax and soak up the summer sun, the complex features a retractable roof and is surrounded by a stunning lounge deck overlooking the lush and leafy Don forest.

BADMINTON & PICKLEBALL

Granite Badminton provides Members of all ages the opportunity to learn from top badminton professionals and coaches through regular programming, private or group lessons, children's camps and special clinics. Four spacious courts are available for recreational and competitive play. Get a total body workout on the courts and stick around after the game for a hard-earned social hour. Members can also try Pickleball, North America's fastest-growing sport.

CURLING

The traditions of the Granite Club can be traced back to 1875, when a half-dozen gentlemen organized an uptown curling facility that provided its Members with an outdoor, two-sheet rink. Today, true to its roots, the Club boasts a world-class, eight-sheet curling facility with regular programs offered for every age group; the perfect athletic setting for Members to revel in this classic team sport. Don't forget – winners buy the first round!

FITNESS & GROUP EXERCISE

The Granite Club hosts an impressive arsenal of state-of-the-art fitness machines and equipment. Fitness coaches and personal trainers provide the finest level of individualized instruction and planning to help Members reach their personal goals and develop fit and healthy lifestyles. Drop-in group exercise classes span yoga to circuits to spin, and seasonal specialty programs offer the chance to develop new strengths and skills in a wide range of disciplines over several weeks of training.

GOLF DOME

The Granite Club boasts one of the premier indoor golf facilities in the country. With hitting stations, a short game area, a state-of-the-art course simulator, high-tech swing analysis and even club-fitting and repair services, this is the ideal location for seasoned golfers to work on their game during the winter months and for new golfers to fall in love with the sport for the first time. Offering programs and individualized lessons for children and adults of all skill levels, our PGA of Canada Professionals are available to help with any aspect of the game.

SKATING

For close to 100 years, the Granite Club has been a leader in figure skating excellence. Several World and Olympic champions have made the Granite rink their home. From the grassroots beginner level to championship form, our skating programs are developed to focus on fitness, fun and, of course, the fundamentals of skating! Casual skate times, social skating clinics and hockey powerskating lessons are also available.

SQUASH

Granite Squash offers social, instructional and competitive programs that emphasize sportsmanship and participation. A wide range of programs combine skills, fitness and leisure, and the squash socials, tournaments and children's camps are a blast! Our two double and five single squash courts provide an environment in which players of all abilities can grow through fun, fitness and friendship.

TENNIS

Long a part of Granite heritage, the game of tennis is one of our most popular sports. Our exceptional facility offers twelve Har-Tru clay courts—four red and eight green—and four Plexicushion hard court surfaces, with thirteen bubbled in winter for year-round play. A variety of instructional programs are available to learn the ins and outs, and other programs include house leagues, ladders, casual play, children's camps and social events. Top tennis professionals offer private and group lessons, from beginner to advanced.
